People are talking about Jamie is Jamie…

default image

It was a pleasure to have Afsaneh speak to my 7th and 8th-grade students about the writing, editing process, and publishing process.  Students thoroughly enjoyed the book "Jamie is Jamie" and the opportunity to listen to Afsaneh talk about how the story came to be.  Afsaneh shared with students how to develop ideas for writing, what it is like to work with an editor and publication company, and also the importance of revision.  Students not only experienced the empowering lesson to keep trying in their own writing but also experienced the lesson that they should always be true to themselves.  Talking with Afsaneh has completely been a valuable experience for my middle school students.
