Afsaneh spoke to our class of 6th graders via Skype because they are writing their own short narratives. She drew clear parallels from their work to her own, discussing the writing and publishing process in detail. She sent the clear message that writing is a craft to be honed. Afsaneh helped build struggling writers’ confidence and confident writers’ ability to make tough revisions. Her tone and message were so positive for young people.
